Russell Crowe and Liam Hemsworth will play the military in the action movie from the authors of ‘Paranormal Activity’
Actors Russell Crowe (Gladiator) and Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) will star in Land Of Bad, an action thriller about the U.S. operation in the Philippines, Deadline reports.
Crowe will play a U.S. Air Force drone pilot and operator known as the Reaper, who has 48 hours to avert a horrific disaster. Hemsworth will portray a young air traffic controller on screen who finds himself in the middle of a fight without weapons or means of communication, except for a single military drone flying over him.
The film revolves around an Air Force drone pilot named Rapper (Crow). The rapper has been sent on a deadly mission to the southern Philippines with a field team, including Kani (Hemsworth). Considered a greenhorn by other members of his team, Kanye’s early fortune comes out the window when he and others are spotted by enemy forces. Trapped without a weapon to fight their way, the rapper’s drone skills will be the only chance for the team to survive.
Hemsworth recently received an Emmy nomination as the executive producer of “The Most Dangerous Game” and recently appeared in the Rome work “Isn’t It Romantic.” Currently, he is shooting for Netflix’s romantic feature “Lonely Planet,” co-starring Laura Dern.
The authors of the film were director William Eubank and screenwriter David Frigerio, who worked together on the mystical horror film Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. The film was produced by Highland Film Group.
“Working with such talented actors as Russell and Liam is just a dream come true. They managed not only to create the strong characters of the two leaders but to demonstrate the incredible strength of the brotherhood,” the creators of the project noted.
