The guests of the event saw the first footage from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

At the annual CinemaCon film festival, Disney has sparked interest in many of its box office premieres. In addition to a short 20-minute announcement of Doctor Strange’s next journey through the multiverse, the guests of the event saw the first footage from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. After a record-breaking debut in 2018, Marvel Studios immediately began developing a sequel with director Ryan Coogler.

However, the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman after a four-year battle with colon cancer forced the team to put the project on hold. So now they had to not only continue the story of T’Challa without his main character but also honor the legacy of the comic book star.

While the exclusive footage shown at CinemaCon has not yet been shown to the public, the plot of the upcoming film has lifted the veil of secrecy. Now Letisha Wright’s Shuri, Nakiya’s Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira’s Okoye will lead the sequel’s protagonists, leading the Wakanda army without the legendary Black Squadron. Fans also speculate that Shuri will be the new ruler and the one who inherits Chadwick’s costume, although these rumors have yet to be confirmed.

In the next two weeks, we will be able to see the trailer for a special continuation. The world premiere of the film is scheduled for November 11.

The footage focuses on Nakiya, Okoya, and Shuri, which isn’t too surprising. They will be the three main characters of the sequel, boosting the roles of many previously minor characters in light of T’Challa’s absence. Nakiya, Okoye, and Shuri, who lead the Wakanda army, indicate that each of them plays an important role in the country. Shuri is supposed to be the new ruler of Wakanda during Black Panther 2 and the next hero to wear the Black Panther costume.
