Singer Naomi Judd was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame a day after her death.

Members of the American duo The Judds, Naomi Judd, and her daughter Wynonna are inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame  on May 1 . The day before the ceremony, 76-year-old Judd passed away. The event was attended by the singer’s daughters, Wynonna and Ashley. Friends and fans of Judd gathered outside the museum, where her photograph stood at the entrance, reports Deadline.

“I’m sorry she couldn’t last until today,” Ashley said.

In turn, The Judds member Wynonna stated that she would continue to sing despite her “heartbreak.”

In 1983, The Judds signed to RCA Nashville and released six studio albums. The duo received five Grammy Awards and became one of the most successful bands in the history of country music.

Earlier, Judd’s daughters reported that the artist had died due to mental illness. It is reported by The Associated Press with reference to the statement of the daughters of the performer Wynonna and Ashley.

In 1991, the duo broke up as Naomi was diagnosed with hepatitis. A few years before her death, she talked about depression.
