2018 Felony Robbery Case Against YG Has Been Formally Dismissed

2018 Felony Robbery Case Against YG Has Been Formally Dismissed

It looks like YG may be in the clear regarding a 4-year-old legal issue, according to a new report from TMZ. The outlet revealed that the 2018 felony robbery case against YG has been dropped due to the rapper reportedly settling out of court with the alleged victim.

Sources close to YG reportedly confirmed that the case was officially dismissed because in addition to settling out of court with his accuser, the man also decided not to move forward with criminal charges through the local Las Vegas prosecutor’s office. Speaking to media about the positive outcome for his client, Joe Tacopina, YG’s attorney, said “Justice was served expeditiously, we would’ve had the same result if the case went to trial.”

As we previously reported back in 2018, YG turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Las Vegas and was promptly released after paying the $20,000 bail.

The alleged incident occurred at the Cosmopolitan Hotel when an unidentified man approached YG and asked to take a photo with him. Things took a turn when YG’s entourage apparently turned the guy away.

The man reportedly told YG that he’s not a real celebrity and camera footage shows YG snatching the chain off of his neck in response. The chain fell to the ground, and YG was seen on camera picking up the chain, which was priced somewhere between $3,000 and 9,000, and running off.

The victim was also suing for $250,000 him because he claimed at the time that the rapper had his squad beat him up before he snatched his chain.
