Jensen Ackles will make his debut on ABC’s Big Sky in the second season finale set to air May 19. He will appear as a guest star in the episode, and as announced with the season’s renewal today, Ackles will become a series regular next season. 

Natasha Lyonne will make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut in the season finale episode set to air May 21 on NBC. Japanese Breakfast will make their debut as musical guest. Before that, Selena Gomez is set to make her Saturday Night Live hosting debut May 14 on NBC. She will be joined by musical guest Post Malone. 

CBS has ordered its True Lies reboot pilot to series. The series is based on the 1994 movie which starred Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The series will star Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga. The drama series joins recently ordered series East New York, Fire Country and So Help Me Todd for next season

Hulu has canceled Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. after one season. The stop motion animated series was a part of a Marvel deal which featured 5 series, which was then cut to two when Marvel’s old TV arm shut down in favor for one aligned with the cinematic universe. Still no word on the fate of Marvel’s Hit-Monkey.

Stephanie Beatriz has joined the cast of Peacock’s Twisted Metal. She joins Anthony Mackie in the series based on the video game series of the same name. The half hour live action series is about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck. 

FX has set summer premiere dates for their upcoming series. The Old Man premieres June 16 on FX. Comedy series The Bear premieres June 23 on hulu. Season four of What We Do in the Shadows premieres July 12 on FX. Season two of American Horror Stories premieres on hulu July 21. Season two of Reservation Dogs premieres on hulu August 3. Docuseries Welcome to Wrexham premieres August 24 on FX. Animated comedy Little Demon premieres on FXX August 25. Limited series The Patient premieres August 30 on hulu. 

USA Network announced its upcoming slate of programs. New original series include Austin Dillon’s Life in the Fast Lane (June 23), Barmageddon, The Chain: Alaska, Race for the Championship, Rust Hunters, Snake in the Grass and Winter Watchman. Returning series include WWE Raw, WWE NXT, Chucky, Chrisley Knows Best and Miz and Mrs. It will also feature sporting events from NASCAR, INDYCAR, The U.S. Open, The Open Championship and more.

Disney’s Onyx Collective has ordered comedy series Unprisoned. The series will star Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo. The eight episode series is about a messy but perfectionist relationship therapist and single mom whose life is turned right-side-up when her dad gets out of prison and moves in with her and her teenage son. 

John Cho has joined Apple TV+’s The Afterparty. He joins Ken Jeong, Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, and Vivian Wu. Season one stars Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao will also return. 

An animated Married… with Children series is in the works. The potential series would feature the voices of the original stars Katey Sagal, Ed O’Neill, Christina Applegate and David Faustino. The original series aired on Fox. 

Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers is in discussions for a second season order. The series was expected to be a limited series. Instead, the series could now continue. 

Miguel Bernardeau has been cast in Prime Video’s Zorro reboot series. The project is separate from the CW’s female focused Zorro project. 

Hulu has passed on its Hillary Rodham Clinton series Rhodam. The series will now be shopped to other streamers. 

Tyler Hoechlin will be appearing in Paramount+’s upcoming Teen Wolf The Movie. He will reprise his character Derek Hale from the original series. 

Leslie Bibb has been cast in Apple TV+’s comedy series Mrs. American Pie. She joins Kristen Wiig and Allison Janney . 

Tonantzin Carmelo and Michelle Vergara Moore have been promoted to series regulars for La Brea’s upcoming second season. The NBC series follows a group of people who end up transported back in time to 10,000 B.C. when a sinkhole opens in LA. 

The 95th Oscars will air on ABC March 12. It will air live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. 

Freevee’s Untitled Shea Serrano Project (fka Primo) has added Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Martin Martinez, Carlos Santos, Johnny Rey Diaz, Henri Esteve, Jonathan Medina, Nigel Siwabessy, Christina Vidal, Efrain Villa and Stakiah Washington to the cast. The series follows a teenager balancing college aspirations, societal expectations, and a hectic home life, anchored by his single mom and five uncles. It is inspired by Serrano’s life growing up in San Antonio. 

Judy Woodruff is stepping down as the anchor of PBS NewsHour at the end of the year. Amna Nawaz and Geoff Bennett will likely serve as co-anchors after she departs. 

AMC+’s suspense thriller series Moonhaven is now set to premiere July 7. The series is set in a utopian colony on the moon that may hold the keys to preserving life on Earth, which has become increasingly perilous. It follows a lunar cargo pilot and smuggler 100 years in the future who finds herself accused of a crime and marooned on Moonhaven, a utopian community set on a 500 square mile Garden of Eden built on the Moon to find solutions to the problems that will soon end civilization on Mother Earth.

Season five of Carpool Karaoke: The Series premieres on Apple TV+ May 27. The new season will feature Simu Liu, Jessica Henwick, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney, Anitta, Saweetie, Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan Scott, stars from All Elite Wrestling, and the D’Amelio family.

Docuseries Los Montaner will premiere on Disney+ later this year. The series takes audiences inside the day-to-day life of one of Latin America’s most famous families, the Montaners: Ricardo, Marlene, Mau, Ricky and Evaluna, and their significant others Stefi, Sara and Camilo, giving viewers access to the Montaner family’s most intimate moments including weddings, births, and celebrations, as well as, providing the audience with a behind-the-scenes look at their artistic careers. 

VH1’s “Level Up Mondays” will feature new seasons of Basketball Wives and VH1 Couples Retreat. Both series will premiere May 16.
