Michael K. Williams’ Nephew Opens Up About Finding His Body The Day Of His Passing

During the latest episode of “Red Table Talk,” Jada Pinket-Smith, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and Willow Smith discuss the dangers of fentanyl. The guests that join them on the show this week are family and friends of people who have unfortunately passed away due to the drug. One person to speak with the ladies was Dominic Dupont, who is the nephew of late actor Michael K.Williams. Dominic is also the person who found Michael’s body on the day of his passing.

Dominic opened up about finding Michael’s body last September in his apartment. He said,

“Mike had some work to do the next day, and I had reached out to him the night before, and I was concerned that I had not heard from him. We made the decision to go to his house.”

He continued to explain that when he went inside Michael’s home, it had been quiet as he called out for him.

“I observed him deceased,” said Dominic. “Immediately I called 911, they said ‘listen do you want to start some compressions?’ I said I’m telling you he’s deceased, he’s gone, he’s cold.”

Michael had been open about his past battle with drugs, so when Dominic asked if Michael showed any signs of relapsing, he shared that Michael had been doing well, and added, “It did not appear to me that Mike was sliding back into addiction.” Dominic had been home for 4 1/2 years after serving time in prison and said that Michael didn’t appear to be dealing with any issues that seemed major.

“Michael also worked really hard not to have the things that he was going through weigh on other people. He was an actor, right? You can fool people, you can convince people that you’re okay,” he said. “I’m positive that he would not have knowingly taken fentanyl.”

As previously reported, back in February four men were charged in connection to Michael K. Williams’ death. He, unfortunately, overdosed on fentanyl-laced heroin and was found deceased in his Brooklyn apartment at the age of 54.
