Top of the Pops: The Story of 1998, Saturday, 21.00, BBC2

BBC4 are taking a bit of a break before ploughing on with 1993, with Big Hits 1992 again this Friday, though the new year will follow next week, promise. In the meantime Saturday nights continue to motor through the decade. It’s a year that Creamguide is personally very fond of because of what we were doing and where we were living at the time, and so we’ll have fond memories of much of the stuff featured here, though, of course, your mileage may vary. There might be some pretty familiar stuff on Big Hits, because some performances would get numerous repeats in an era when they would frequently feature the previous week’s number one, which always seemed a bit weird, but you probably weren’t watching it every week plus recording it as well, so it was our fault really.
