Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams is eager to sit down and watch HBO’s spinoff series, House of the Dragon.

In Game of Thrones, Williams starred as Arya Stark through all eight seasons of the hit epic fantasy series.

As the youngest female Stark, Arya was head-strong and determined to be anything but what was expected of her. This saw her learning how to fight with a sword and learning to swap faces at the House of Black and White in Braavos.

This also led to her being the only person capable of defeating the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) as he descended on Winterfell.

Now, the actor can’t wait to tune back into Westeros — this time as a viewer and not a participant.

Maisie Williams is looking forward to watching House of the Dragon

According to an interview Williams recently did with LadBible, the celebrity is really looking forward to watching House of the Dragon.

“I am going to watch House of the Dragon,” Williams said. “I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait.”

She then explained how she is eager to watch it rather than be a part of the series.

“I’m very, very intrigued. It’ll be nice to watch a Game of Thrones show I’m not part of and just get lost in it. I’m thrilled.”

Other Game of Thrones actors weigh in

Previously, other Game of Thrones actors have also weighed in on the upcoming series, which will be set some 200 years before the events that unfolded in the original series.

While Williams is happy to simply watch House of the Dragon, John Bradley, who portrayed Samwell Tarly, is sad not to be involved.

“I think [House of the Dragon is] going to be great, but there’s going to be a tinge of sadness that none of us are involved,” Bradley said.

Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) also believes HBO is following a “safe option” with House of the Dragon.

He said HBO took a “huge risk” when they first took on Game of Thrones, and now, with House of the Dragon, that risk has been negated.

Dinklage will also be watching the new series as a fan, just like Williams.

Emilia Clarke has also spoken about House of the Dragon and warned all actors taking on a Targaryen role that they should stick to wigs rather than dyeing their hair as the bleach is very damaging.

Meanwhile, George R. R. Martin, the author behind the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon book series, has already seen nine of the ten episodes for Season 1 of House of the Dragon, so maybe Williams needs to speak to him if she wants some spoilers for the new series.

Season 1 of House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO Max on August 21.
