“Harmful To Public Health”: Steve Forbes Warns New Biden Policy Will Harm U.S. Citizens

This episode of What’s Ahead explains how two decisions just made by the Food and Drug Administration will be harmful to both public health and the agency’s authority.

First is the FDA’s desire to impose a virtual prohibition on cigarettes by drastically reducing the permissible levels of nicotine. This will be unenforceable. Nicotine is addictive, but it isn’t what makes cigarettes lethal, which is why doctors recommend nicotine patches and gums to people trying to quit smoking.

The FDA’s crusade will be the tobacco version of Prohibition a century ago.

The other decree—temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court—banned Juul, a vaping giant, from making and selling its devises and e-cigarettes. This is really perverse, as vaping has been highly effective in enabling smokers to give up the habit. This is why health authorities in Britain highly recommend that smokers switch to e-cigarettes.
