Alex Rodriguez: How Did He React to the News That Jennifer Lopez Got Married to Ben …

When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got back together after an 18-year separation, there was much rejoicing on social media.

After all, this was a couple that everyone loved the first time around, and following some rough years for Affleck, the Bennifer reunion seemed like the ultimate happy ending.

Of course, there was one guy who was probably not so thrilled by the surprise reconciliation:

We’re talking, of course, about Alex Rodriguez.

A-Rod proposed J-Lo in March of 2019 after two years of dating.

The couple seemed to be destined for the altar but were forced to postpone their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

They announced the end of their relationship in April of 2021, and before the month was out, Jen was revealed to be dating Ben.

Obviously, that’s an awful quick rebound, but don’t go shedding any tears for A-Rod.

The relationship ended amid rumors that Rodriguez was cheating on Lopez with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy.

Still, it’s natural to wonder how the Yankee great reacted to news that his former fiancee married someone new just over a year after their split.

And shockingly, it seems that Alex has taken the news quite well!

“He’s happy for her and happy that she’s with the person she’s meant to be with,” a source close to A-Rod recently told Us Weekly.

“He’s in a new relationship now and is happy as well. He’s traveling all over and living his best life. He’s really focused on family, his career and what he’s got going on.”

The insider adds that when Alex “saw the news” of Jen’s wedding he shrugged and “went about his business.”

“[His] relationship [with Jennifer] ended a while ago — he’s made peace with how things ended,” the source continued.

“He respects her and truly wishes her nothing but the best.”

Interestingly, A-Rod discussed the breakup during an appearance on Martha Stewart’s podcast just a few days before Jen and Ben got married.

And he had nothing but kind words for his former fiancee.

“Look, we had a great time,” Rodriguez said. “More importantly, we always put the kids front and center in everything we do.”

“Here’s what I will tell you about Jennifer, and I was telling some of my colleagues here the other day, she’s the most talented human being I’ve ever been around,” the baseball legend continued.

“Hardest worker. And I think she is the greatest live performer in the world today that’s alive.”

Needless to say, it sounds like there’s still a great deal of mutual respect between Rodriguez and Lopez.

There’s no word yet on whether or not Alex has reached out to congratulate Ben and Jen, but we’re sure he wishes them all the best.

Although certain aspects of this situation must sting a little bit.

After all, A-Rod’s ex-fiancee went and married a freakin’ Red Sox fan, for Pete’s sake!
