Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley: Breaking the Law Made Us Closer Than Ever!

As it turns out, the couple that breaks the law together… stays together.

On the latest edition of their podcast, Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley delved into the legal drama that has dominated their lives for years… while also touching on how this ordeal has affected their relationship.

“You know, I actually think that this has made our marriage stronger,” Todd said Friday to listeners of Chrisley Confessions podcast.

THIS, of course, is a reference to the USA Network stars having been found guilty in in June of tax evasion and fraud.

The spouses had been indicted on 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy back in 2019.

They’ve been accused of swindling $30 million from community banks between 2007 and 2012 by inflating their net worth to be approved loans.

During this spring’s trial, the prosecution also alleged that the couple actively hid millions they made from the reality show Chrisley Knows Best, as well as $500,000 in taxes Todd owed in 2009.

“They made up documents and they lie through their teeth to get whatever they want, whenever they want it,” Assistant US Attorney Annalise Peter said in court.

Todd and Julie now face up to 30 years in jail.

But, hey, at least they’re in this together.

” know from my perspective, that I’m stuck to her for life because I want to be — not because it’s routine, not because it’s habit and not because we have children,” Todd said on Friday’s podcast about his wife.

Julie, for her part, noted that while the twosome are far from perfect (LOL, how true!), she wouldn’t want to have “ups and downs with anybody else.”

Added Todd:

“The downs that we had have really been at the hands of other people, outside interference that we’ve allowed to come into our lives.”

Ah, yes.

None of this has been Todd or Julie’s responsibility at all! Despite all the evidence against them and despite what a jury of their peers unanimously decided nearly two months ago!

This is all just part of God’s plan, Todd has previously said.

“I’m still struggling folks, I’m still struggling with it [and] I’m trying to get to where I need to get to,” Todd said on Friday, noting his spouse is a “much better person” since she’s “further along” in her acceptance process.

“I look back on our life because we’ve had a fairly good life.

“We’ve had a lot of heartache and struggle, but we’ve had a lot of blessings,” Todd continued.

Growing reflective, Todd went on as follows:

“You know, I try to look back on those … I look back at life now and I just think so many people come to us and want help and they want advice and to know how to get through this.

“I don’t know how we got through it, other than God.”

Todd and Julie will be sentenced on October 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.

On June 7, Todd was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud.

Julie was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud.

Citing the scandal as a “whirlwind,” Todd concluded on this podcast episode:

“We wanted to let everyone know that it’s a very sad, heartbreaking time for our family right now.

“But we still hold steadfast in our faith and we trust that God will do what he does because God’s a miracle worker — and that’s what we’re holding out for.”
