McDonald’s Worker Dies After Being Shot In The Head Over Cold Fries

The Brooklyn McDonald’s worker who was shot in the neck following an argument with a customer over cold fries earlier this week has died, and the gunmen is now facing upgraded homicide charges, police confirmed on Friday.

Matthew Webb, 23, “succumbed to his injuries” days after being shot at the Bedford-Stuyvesant location where he worked on Monday, according to the New York Post.

He had previously been placed on life support and was in life-threatening condition in the days following the shooting.

Irate Customer Called Her Son To The Location After Argument Over Cold Fries

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Michael Morgan has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a loaded gun for shooting Webb after Morgan’s mother complained to him about being served cold fries. Morgan’s girlfriend was also arrested in connection with the shooting.

At a court hearing on Thursday, prosecutors said they intend on upgrading Morgan’s charges to include homicide, even before confirmation of Webb’s death, according to the Post.

The NYPD said that the “investigation remains ongoing.” The Shade Room had reported on the shooting on Tuesday.

Mother Summoned Son After Workers Allegedly Laughed At Her

The now-deadly incident began after Morgan’s mother, Lisa Fulmore, began to hassle Webb over her fries, while reportedly FaceTiming her son, who happened to be in the neighborhood.

When several workers began laughing at her, she summoned her son to the restaurant, who got into a fight with Webb.

The confrontation eventually spilled onto the sidewalk where Morgan punched Webb and the face. When Webb got back up, Morgan pulled out a gun and shot him in the neck, the New York Post reports, citing prosecutors.

Mother Defends Son, Who Reportedly Confessed To Another Homicide During Questioning

For her part, Fulmore defended her son’s actions, telling police “he gotta do what he gotta do.”

“He gotta do what he gotta do,” Morgan’s mother allegedly told police.

Morgan’s girlfriend, Camellia Dunlap, was also charged with weapons possession, with authorities claiming she was the one who handed Morgan the gun.

Dunlap reportedly admitted to possessing the gun, and was arraigned on Wednesday and held on $50,000 cash bail.

The Post reports that Morgan is also being charged with killing Kevin Holloman back in October 2021, a crime he allegedly confessed to during questioning over the shooting incident at McDonald’s.
