SNK Announces New Entry To The Fatal Fury Series, Its First Since 1999

Publisher SNK has announced a brand new entry to its Fatal Fury / Garou franchise, the first in 23 years after the launch of Garou: Mark of the Wolves back in 1999 for the Neo Geo and Sega Dreamcast.

The announcement was made during EVO 2022 after the King of Fighters 15 final, with SNK stating that the new entry “will mark a new turning point in the history of fighting games”.

Fatal Fury stars Terry Bogard first and formost, who has also featured prominently in the King of Fighters franchise as well as guest appearing as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The teaser trailer also cheekily revealed that the key art was created by Tonko, the pen name of artist Aki Senno, who previously worked as a character designer and illustrator for the aforementioned Garou: Mark of the Wolves, along with entries to the King of Fighters and Metal Slug franchises.

As the game is in early development, target platforms have not yet been announced; here’s hoping the Nintendo Switch is in the running!
