Christine Brown: Wait, Did She Really Sell Her Arizona Land for Only $10?!?

Christine Brown does not appear to be bitter in the wake of her split from Kody Brown.

She doesn’t appear to be petty or angry or out for revenge, either.

And yet:

The veteran Sister Wives star has never come across as especially ignorant, stupid or dense, either… which is why many observers have major questions about a prominent story making the Internet rounds this week.

As you may have read about, Christine allegedly sold her portion of the land in Flagstaff, Arizona that her polygamous household purchased in 2018.

This land has become known as Coyote Pass and Brown rid herself of the asset back in late July.

She did so, according to the initial report, for $10.

This is obviously a paltry sum, especially when you consider Coyote Pass was bought four years ago for $820,000; that the real estate market in the area has only grown stronger since; and that Christine’s parcel must be worth somewhere in the high six figures.

Christine Brown and Kody Brown are no more. These are official TLC-sponsored images of the stars.

So… why would she choose to make absolutely no money on this investment?

Maybe because Christine just wanted to avoid all drama with Kody, choosing to move back to Utah as quickly as possible last year and to distance herself from her ex in as clean a way as possible?

Sure, maybe.

Or perhaps there’s more to this story.

Sister Wives Season 17 kicks off in September 2022. Here is a look at the very first poster in anticipation of new and exciting episodes.

Some Internet users have pointed to a term known as Nominal Consideration.

This term refers to consideration in name only — to a sum of money so insignificant that it has no relation whatsoever to the actual value of what is being exchanged under an eventual contract.

In more straightforward words?

It’s very possible that Christine received $10 from Kody simply as some sort of agreement fee that a potential sale between the parties would soon be executed.

For the record, Christine also sold the land back to Kody and Robyn, the latter of whom is Kody’s only legal spouse.

Christine, of course, announced on November 2 that she was leaving her spiritual husband.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” the Sister Wives star said in a statement on Instagram.

“We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family.

“At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”

Kody and Christine will remain co-parents to their six children, Mykelti, 25, Paedon, 23, Aspyn, 26, Ysabel, 18, Gwendlyn, 20 and Truely, 11.

On Sister Wives Season 17, we’ll go behind the scenes of this shocking break-up.

“It’s not fun breaking people’s hearts,” Christine said on the Season 16 reunion special.

“I mean, at my core, I just want people to be happy and I just want people to feel loved. But I knew I was making a decision that would break hearts and it tore me apart.

“And it was super, super sad.”
