Young Thugs Somehow Tweets Swimming Question To Michael Phelps From Behind Bars: Phelps, Fans Respond

Young Thugs Tweets Michael Phelps From Behind Bars, Phelps Responds

Rapper Young Thug managed to send a tweet to Michael Phelps from behind bars this week where he asked him a swimming question, prompting fans to wonder if he was hinting at breaking out of jail as Phelps himself responded to the bizarre inquiry.

As Thugger battles his RICO case in Georgia, he somehow was able to take to Twitter on Wednesday to make a cryptic comment on the 23-time Olympic gold medalist’s ability to “swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to shore.”

“I’m talking with my roommate and we’re wondering if you could swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to shore – @MichaelPhelps,” the YSL leader wrote.

Phelps, who likely was shocked to hear from the rapper as he remains incarcerated pending his RICO case, actually responded quickly to Thugger’s question, claiming he thinks he could make the 100-mile swim.

“Yeah. I think I could make it,” Phelps replied.

Thugger somehow managed to go online from jail once again, and asked the swimming legend “how long do you think it would take?” followed by a thinking-face emoji.

“How long do you think it would take? 🤔” Thugger followed up to Phelps’ response.

Fans on social media were a bit bewildered by the exchange, with some even questioning whether Thugger was hinting at a prison break in his tweet to Phelps.

“U tryna escape,” one person replied, with another joking that Phelps will now be added to the YSL RICO case.

“Oh nah they moved him to Alcatraz,” one commenter wrote. ”

U Tryna escape,”

another person added.

“Water like Phelps and you can jump in my league, run into my head like a deer when it’s late,” he can be heard rapping 2014 track.

Earlier this summer, The Shade Room reported that Young Thug was officially denied bond back in June, and was remanded to the custody of the Cobb County Jail.

Young Thug, along with fellow YSL member Gunna, will both stand trial for their RICO case that is set for January 2023.

When the prosecutors came up to speak about why Young Thug should not receive bond, they noted his endless amounts of song lyrics, in which he allegedly details all of the crimes that he and YSL have committed.

As they ended their statements at his bond hearing this evening, they called Young Thug “King Slime” and singled him out as the “most dangerous” member of YSL and the person calling all the shots, as it relates to murder and other gang-related activity.

Last month, the rapper was sued by a promoter for failure to return $150K after being unable to perform due to his incarceration. In January, A-1 Concert Entertainment reportedly contracted Thugger to perform a 45-minute set for $300K, according to Hot New Hip Hop.

Thugger had received $150K up front as negotiated, and once his performance was over, he was supposed to get the remainder of his fee. However, with Thugger in jail, he could not hold up his end of the bargain, which has prompted the promoters to want their money back.

Thugger is being sued for breaching his contract. The promoter reportedly contacted YSL Touring, but unfortunately, they never returned the $150K.
