This Lord Of The Rings Filming Location Can Be Yours For Just $5.2 Million

A home in Middle-earth can be all yours, if you have enough loot to attract a money-hungry Dragon to your hoard. One of the New Zealand locations that were used in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Ring’s film trilogy is now up for sale, and will cost you $5.2 million for a picturesque estate that includes vibrant gardens, a woodland that’s just begging to be explored, and a mansion that was recently restored. All that and a three-car garage, workshop, woodshed, and a separate guest cottage.

For the film buffs, the main appeal will be a lake that the property is situated on, which was used to film Cate Blanchett’s scenes as Lady Galadriel in 2001’s Fellowship of the Ring. In 2002’s The Two Towers, the same lake was used to film Gollum’s origin story when he discovers the One Ring and becomes slightly homicidal at the thought of sharing it with his cousin.

According to Stuff NZ, the owners of the property are selling it as they have reached retirement age and wish to move into a smaller property. And definitely not because they’re dealing with an infestation of Ring-Wraiths.
