UK Charts: NieR:Automata And No Man’s Sky Switch Ports Make Decent Debut

We’re at the tail end of the week already, but last week’s UK chart data from GfK has just come in, and there’s no change at the top as FIFA 23 retains the top spot. Not surprising in the UK — though the Switch version only makes up 8% of those sales given that it’s the Legacy Edition — but Splatoon 3 is still comfortably in second.

Last week’s (2nd – 8th October) two new entries come in the form of two long-awaited Switch ports. NieR:Automata lands at 6th, with 99% of all copies sold being the Switch release (the additional 1% comes from the 2019 PS4 Game of the YoRHa Edition). And No Man’s Sky enters at 8th, with 92% of sales coming from Nintendo’s hybrid console. One of the best action RPGs ever and one of the biggest redemption stories in gaming, both with solid Switch ports doing well? Good news all around.

Otherwise, it’s those names that we’re very much used to seeing make up the top ten. Here’s the lowdown:

We’re not expecting any big shake-ups for this week’s physical numbers — and we’ll hopefully find out soon enough. But the week after sees the release of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, followed by Bayonetta 3 the week after that. Whether they’ll challenge the might of FIFA 23 or Splatoon 3 or not, well, we’ll just have to keep an eye open.
