Yellowjackets has been renewed for a third season ahead of its second season premiere March 24. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, the series is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. It chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over. 

Apple TV+ is expanding the world of Mythic Quest with the new series Mere Mortals. The series will explore the lives of employees, players, and fans who are impacted by the game. The new spinoff series takes a page out of the acclaimed departure episodes of Mythic Quest, including the upcoming episode “Sarian,” set to premiere this Friday, last year’s “Everlight,” season one’s “A Dark Quiet Death”, “Backstory!” from season two; and, the standalone episode, “Mythic Quest: Quarantine.” 

HBO Max has renewed comedy series Sort Of for season three. The series follows the journey of Sabi Mehboob, a gender fluid millennial who straddles various identities from sexy bartender at an LGBTQ bookstore/bar, to the youngest child in a large Pakistani family, to the de facto parent of a downtown hipster family. Sabi feels like they’re in transition in every aspect of their life, from gender to love to sexuality to family to career. 

CNN has canceled Stanley Tucci: Searching For Italy after two seasons. The news comes as the news network looks to move away from original content. CNN still has Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico scheduled to premiere in 2023. 

CBS has ordered its first series for the 2023-2024 season, The Never Game. Based on the bestselling novel by Jeffery Deaver, the series features Justin Hartley as lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw, who roams the country as a “reward seeker,” using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family. The series also stars Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene and Academy Award Winner Mary McDonnell. 

Season three of Power Book II: Ghost premieres on Starz March 17. The new season kicks off with Tariq St. Patrick determined to get his trust, get back to his family, and get out of the game for good. The emergence of a ruthless new connect interrupts Tariq’s plans to reunite with Tasha and Yaz and puts him, Brayden, and Effie back into business with the Tejadas as they’re challenged to move more weight than ever before. When Brayden brings Tariq in as an intern at his family’s hedge fund Weston Holdings, the drug business expands beyond Stansfield and the streets onto Wall Street, while Tariq is also shown an alternate, legitimate path to success. Monet Tejada, set ablaze by the death of her son Zeke Cross, is willing to pay a hefty price to avenge her firstborn and keep the rest of her children – and the business – in line as she works closely with Davis MacLean to solve Zeke’s murder and keep the feds off her trail. Business is booming when a staggering reveal forces Tariq to reckon with a betrayal from those closest to him… and a R.I.C.O. investigation mounting into the entire drug enterprise, pulling Tariq deeper into the business and even closer to the legacy of his father. 

Austin Butler will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut December 17 on NBC. He will be joined by Lizzo, returning for her third time as musical guest. Yeah Yeah Yeahs were originally scheduled to perform, but had to pull out due to medical issues. 

Hulu’s limited docuseries The 1619 Project premieres January 26. In keeping with the original project, the six episode series seeks to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of our national narrative. The episodes – “Democracy,” “Race,” “Music,” “Capitalism,” “Fear” and “Justice” – are adapted from essays from The New York Times No. 1 bestselling “The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story” and examine how the legacy of slavery shapes different aspects of contemporary American life. 

The Legend of Vox Machina returns for season two January 20 on Prime Video. After saving the realm from evil and destruction at the hands of the most terrifying power couple in Exandria, Vox Machina is faced with saving the world once again – this time, from a sinister group of dragons known as the Chroma Conclave. 

Season two of Sexify will premiere on Netflix January 11. With the future of their startup in flux, the three young entrepreneurs must balance tumultuous personal lives, a bitter rival and a demanding investor.

The Cupcake Guys will premiere on The Roku Channel January 18. When former NFL teammates Michael Griffin and Brian Orakpo decided to dip their toes into entrepreneurship, they knew they wanted to go about it differently. The former Pro Bowlers saw the hands-off, detached approach some athletes take in their investments and recognized they needed to be more attentive about the steps they took to ensure success. Prior to being cupcake guys, Griffin and Orakpo played for the Tennessee Titans as safety and linebacker respectively. It was in Tennessee that the men ate and fell in love with Gigi’s cupcakes which was based in Nashville and was the largest cupcake franchise brand in the country. After finishing in the league, Griffin opened a franchise of Gigi’s Cupcakes in Austin, alongside Orakpo and their longtime friend Bryan Hynson. 

Survival competition series Outlast will premiere on Netflix in 2023. An eight episode raw survival competition series where 16 lone wolves must outlast each other in the Alaskan wilderness in an attempt to win 1 million dollars. There is only one rule in this cut throat game: they must be a part of a team to win. 

Hulu has ordered the animated series Standing By. The series is a satirical look into the lives of a group of eternally bound, disgruntled guardian angels and the lessons they’ll eventually learn from not only the dysfunctional humans they’re in charge of protecting but also each other. 

ABC, FX, Freeform & Disney Channel will air the first two episodes of The Santa Clauses leading up to Christmas. The Disney+ series will air December 16 on Freeform following a special marathon of the “Santa Clause” movie trilogy, December 17 on FX, December 24 on ABC and December 25 on Disney Channel. The first season of the recently renewed series is streaming in full on Disney+. 

Starz is currently developing a new drama series titled Fightland with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The potential series follows a retired disgraced world champion fighter drawn into the corrupt underbelly of the sport after the disappearance of his childhood best friend and training partner. To save his friend, the troubled fighter will have to return to a way of life that nearly destroyed him – one that cost him everything to leave behind. 

Trevor Noah will return as host of the upcoming 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The ceremony will air live on CBS February 5. This will be Noah’s third straight time hosting the ceremony. 

Henry Lloyd Hughes, Moran Rosenblatt and Sam Woolf have been cast in hulu’s upcoming limited series We Were the Lucky Ones. The series is based on the book by Georgia Hunter. They join Joey King. 

Eric Szmanda will appear in the current second season of CSI: Vegas. He will reprise his role of Greg Sanders from the original CSI series. He joins fellow original star Marg Helgenberger this season. 

Jalyn Hall will play a young Martin Luther King Jr in Disney+’s Genius: MLK/X. The new season will focus on Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X. The anthology series previously aired on National Geographic. 

Amanda Brugel will recur in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Dark Matter. She joins Jennifer Connelly, Joel Edgerton, Alice Braga, Oakes Fegley, Dayo Okeniyi, and Jimmi Simpson in the nine episode series based on Blake Crouch’s book. 

Henry Cavill will not be returning to Netflix’s The Witcher despite no longer playing Superman. The actor stepped down from the role of Geralt, which will now be played by Liam Hemsworth in the upcoming fourth season.

History’s Greatest Heists with Pierce Brosnan will premiere on The History Channel February 7. The eight episode series uncovers the meticulous planning, daring execution and shocking aftermath behind some of the most elaborate real-life heists in history including the notorious Lufthansa Heist of New York, the half-billion-dollar Gardner Museum art theft, the Antwerp Belgium Diamond Heist, and others. 

Hulu’s docuseries How I Caught My Killer premieres January 12 with all nine episodes. The series highlights the real-life stories behind unique homicide cases with in-depth interviews, authentic archival material and cinematic recreations all packaged together into a fresh spin in the genre. The new season of Kindred Spirits premieres on Travel Channel January 20. More stars have been announced for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023. Duran Duran, New Edition, j-hope and Jax will perform. The special will air live on ABC December 31. 

The Glory will premiere on Netflix December 30. Years after surviving horrific abuse in high school, a woman puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes. 

Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl will premiere on Disney+ December 28. Step into Casa Madrigal for an unprecedented concert spectacular as the original voice cast of “Encanto” reunites at the Hollywood Bowl for a show-stopping concert event featuring fan-favorite musical numbers from the soundtrack. Rock climbing competition series The Climb will premiere on HBO Max January 12. The series is a visually-arresting and life-changing adventure that represents the foundations of rock climbing and exploration of the human spirit. In this all-encompassing competition, amateur climbers are put through a rigorous series of mental and physical challenges, utilizing some of the most intimidating ascents in the world to crown the world’s best amateur climber with a prAna sponsored climbing ambassadorship and a $100,000 cash prize. 

Coach Prime premieres on Prime Video December 29. The series follows the 2022 Jackson State University Tigers football team at practice and during games, in the locker room, off the field, and in the community, throughout their 12-0, undefeated SWAC Championship season. These four new episodes explore how the team and the community united together during a season unlike any other and features a wide range of celebrity guests who educate and inspire. 

The Gift: Kindness Goes Viral with Steve Hartman will premiere on CBS December 28. The special focuses on ordinary people committing extraordinary acts that change lives far beyond their own communities. The stories range from a woman whose life was changed forever by a hairdresser who cared, to a family whose child would soon go blind using that experience to help others see the world, and a woman who couldn’t afford to adopt creating an inventive idea now helping others pay for adoptions. 2022 Back That Year Up will premiere on Peacock December 23. Hosted by Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson, the special is an edgy, insightful, and hilarious clip-driven retrospective of a year that began with so much promise, but was only marginally better than the debacle that was 2021. The special will feature drop-ins from Quinta Brunson, Nick Cannon, Terry Crews, Rob Gronkowski, Lauren Lapkus, Amber Ruffin and Roy Wood Jr.
