Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over, Saturday, 20.40, BBC2

Another soul diva is the star of Saturday night, and one of the greats too, with one of the best back catalogues in recorded music. And anyone who can pull in an array of talking heads from Stevie Wonder to Snoop Dogg to Smokey Robinson to reflect on her work has got to be worth hearing more from. It also serves as a tribute to one man who gave her much of her best material, Burt Bacharach, who’s also taking part, though it’s definitely not just about the music as there’s much about her extensive activism in the fight against racism and Aids. There’s so many great songs in her repertoire that the repeated clip show following can fill up a whole ninety minutes, before the evening is rounded off with an interview repurposed from the God Slot a few years back.
