In a little less than a month, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will finally be making its way to the West on June 27th, 2023. The game joins Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town as the second modern remake of a farming classic, introducing new players to a franchise that’s now been running for over 25 years.
Not only that, but there are an awful lot of Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons games For the uninitiated, the reasoning behind the name change in the mid-2010s can prove slightly baffling. You see, Harvest Moon is now Story of Seasons, but Harvest Moon still exists, but it’s not the true Harvest Moon, because that’s Story of Seasons now. Get it? No, that was a terrible way of explaining it.

So with that out of the way, what say we have a look at every Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons game and decide which one is the very best? We can’t do it on our own, mind, so that’s where you fine people come in. Oh, and before we get cracking, we’d just like to address the elephant in the room before it inevitably gets brought up, and that’s the absence of Rune Factory. You’ll notice we’ve included spin-off titles like Puzzle de Harvest Moon and Doraemon Story of Seasons; these are undoubtedly tied to the parent franchise, but we personally feel that while Rune Factory certainly started as a spin-off series, it’s long since graduated into its own thing. Maybe we’ll look at that series specifically another time — let us know below if you’d be interested.
